
Nyasha Warren appointed Canal Museum Research and Documentation Manager

The Canal Museum is proud to announce the appointment of Nyasha Warren Van Gronigen M.S., Ed.M. as new Research and Documentation Manager. With an outstanding professional background and an undeniable commitment to teaching, research, science and technology, Nyasha will be an invaluable addition to our community in this new role.
Nyasha has been selected to lead this important department of the Canal Museum, replacing Jean Sebastien Purcelot, who has left to pursue doctoral studies abroad. With her leadership and strategic skills, we are confident that Nyasha will continue to drive the development of the museum, consolidating it as an international benchmark.
During her time as a Researcher in the Canal Museum's Research and Documentation department, Nyasha has conducted crucial research focused on learning history and the history of educational inequity. Additionally, her experience as a co-researcher in several national and international projects has strengthened her knowledge and skills in educational research.
Her experience covers a wide range of roles in the areas of education, museums, consulting and management, highlighting her role as a current member of the board of directors of the Caribbean Museums Association leading the organization of regional conferences to strengthen international cooperation in the Caribbean and its diaspora. Nyasha has also demonstrated a strong commitment to the community through her work supporting the Society of Friends of the Afro-Antillean Museum of Panama in its annual events and educational initiatives.
In addition to her impressive professional background, Nyasha has a strong academic background that includes a Master's Degree in Education from Harvard University, a Master's Degree in Environmental Health Sciences from New York University, and a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Oberlin College.
In her new role as Research and Documentation Manager, Nyasha Warren will continue to contribute to the growth and excellence of the Canal Museum, consolidating its position as a leading institution in the field of research and documentation.
