The sense of belonging that the Panama Canal issue generates in all of us who were born and live in our Isthmus homeland is undeniable. But, have you ever wondered what it means for those who practice their profession, work and/or are linked to the service of the Panama Canal?

Giving part of your life, your knowledge and your experience to the most important company in our country and one of the most recognized worldwide is, without a doubt, a source of pride for every professional who contributes with effort and heart to the operation of the Panama Canal.
The Panama Canal impacts lives, changes families and brings to every canal worker that feeling that in a certain way is patriotic fervor.
For the canal professional, being part of this great company fills him with pride, since he is aware that with his work he is leaving marks in the history of the country. I mention this point, because many of the vindication struggles carried out throughout our national history, have to do with the fight for our canal. Being part of the Panama Canal and contributing to its operation, functioning and the dissemination of its valuable information is also being part of the national history.
The Canal is without a doubt, that key piece in our historical future, which is part of our daily life as Panamanians. Abroad, when we identify ourselves as Panamanians, the first thing we are associated with is our engineering marvel called the Panama Canal.
Undoubtedly, spreading the history of our canal, talking about what it means to the world and transmitting valuable information about its construction, is also being part of the canal machinery. For more than 26 years, the Canal Museum has brought to nationals and foreigners that fascinating canal history. That history that, when you hear it or read it on the panels of the rooms, you feel like you are living it. And the museum becomes that time machine that, through pieces, images, texts and narratives, takes you to times that changed the world. The Panama Canal changed the world, the museum tells its story and moves the hearts of its people.
